Chanel Cruise 2013- Stylert.com

Karl Lagerfeld unveiled Chanel Cruise 2013 collection in the gardens at the Palais de Versailles.

The show was held in the plush gardens of Le Palais de Versailles, which are never normally open to the public. Lagerfeld’s Chanel Cruise 2013 collection is featuring a whimsical mix of punk and Marie Antoinette inspired attires.

The mix started with the use of high- tech modern fabrics and traditional Chanel tweed in gold, pastel colors for outfits and hair with hues of lilac, grey, peach, pink and transformed into black and white on the end.

The collection is young and playful and features cheerful sequin-encrusted dresses, Chanel’s tweed jackets, the quilted bags, denim ensembles etc. The hairstylist Sam McKnight was the creator of the hairstyles who described them as “bob tops, wigs dyed grey pastel then’’ which is adding a androgyny style to the collection.

The show was watched from over 400 guests, including Vanessa Paradis, Tilda Swinton, designer Haider Ackermann , Sam Taylor-Wood and Aaron Johnson.  The name Haider Ackerman has been buzzing around the press a lot lately.

In 2010, Karl Lagerfeld made an announcement that if somebody were to take over his position at Chanel he would want it to be Haider Ackerman. Asking Karl Lagerfeld if he still wants Haider Ackermann to take over Chanel, he answers:  “Not especially. It’s not his world I don’t think.”
