Alexander Wang FW- 2012-13- Stylert.com

Alexander Wang has presented his latest collection for FW 2012-13 at the New York Fashion Week. Designer Alexander Wang is known for his edgy, effortless chic, or what he calls, “model off duty’’ style is  a combination of street style and classic luxury.

For the coming season Alexander Wang has a surrealistic approach, he creates fabrics inspired by industrial metal crates and uses a technique he called; fabric manipulation. The results are shrink-wrap, lamination, covering up, lacquering surfaces of fabrics and leathers.

He lacquered the tweeds on coats, hooded jackets, and even chunky wool sweaters. Leathers were glossy and seamless, and suede pants and coats came with waxed panels.

Born in California to Chinese-American parents, Alexander Wang moved to New York at the age of 18 to attend the legendary Parsons Design School and it was here that he learned his craft. Wang had launched his first eponymous knitwear-based collection before he had even left, with a full line following in 2007 and selling his pieces to over 200 stores.
