Moschino announced that for the first time, that Moschino Cheap And Chic will participate at the London Fashion Week.
Moschino’s Cheap & Chic label will show its fall 2012 collection at London Fashion Week on February 18, a move from its regular spot on Milan’s fashion week schedule. While the main Moschino show remains in Italy, the label’s creative director Rossella Jardini tells British Vogue that London “will be the appropriate platform for [Cheap & Chic] to grow whilst still remembering its roots.”
Moschino Cheap & Chic was launched in 1988 with a collection that displayed the same sense of fun as the iconic main line. The line maintains the brand’s hallmark quirky such as vintage-inspired style, eye-catching polka dot Minnie Mouse patterns, embellishment brooches and tweed jackets in an uplifting palette of green, pink and yellow.
Cheap and Chic was launched 1988 and is the less expensive line. Moschino Cheap & Chic was named as the Jean-Paul Gaultier of Italian fashion for his highly innovative designs.
The designs were very unusual such as quilted black denim miniskirt with plastic fried eggs decorating the hemline, quilted jacket decorated with bottle tops, plug-socket drop earrings, and bodices made out of safety pins. Moschino Cheap and Chic uses basic forms and traditional tailoring methods to produce wearable, sexy clothes, cut to flatter and beautifully made, fashion that is full of fun & chic.
