Gianluca Capannolo is considered one of the most talented designers in the emerging landscape of Italian fashion designers .His collection has ever been distributed in high level shops as Rail and Salomè in Brescia.

Gianluca Capannolo presented his own women’s ready to wear collection in Milan and Paris in October 2003. The collection has e ver been distributed in high level shops as Rail and Salomè in Brescia. In 2005 Gianluca Capannolo also became Creative Director at prestigious Italian fashion house Lancetti.

In July 2006 Gianluca Capannolo was called by Alta Roma and Vogue Italia to show in Rome during Altarom Altamoda. From November 2006 for three collections Gianluca Capannolo has also become Creative Director at Italian fashion house Krizia. At the moment he is Creative Director of Metradamo.

Gianluca Capannolo graduated from Academia d’ Alta Moda Koefia in Rome in 1993. From 1994 until 2000 he worked for Lambros Milona while also co-operating on Bagutta’s and Fratelli Rossetti’s collection and Fratelli Rossetti’s collection as a first assistant designer and production manager at Mauricio Pecoraro.

In 2001, back from a long stay in South America where he studied local craftsmanshift,Cappannolo was proposed to design Amano a new made in Peru women’s collection project which merged South American tradition and Italian avant-garde. Since its debut until the Autumn/Winter 2003/2004 season, man o was carried in prestigious shops worldwide.

Tradition and innovation, within an acute awareness of fashion as an art-form and as a major part of social development, are the keys to Gianluca Capannolo’s artistic personality, as revealed since the SS/ 2004 debut of the ladies ready to wear collection that bears his name. Strongly supported by the most important international buyers consent the collection was introduced in the Milan and Paris showrooms.

Since then he distributed in the most important Italian stores like: Banner e Biffi in Milan, Luisa Via Roma in Florence Sugar in Arezzo, Bernaredelli in Mantus, Salmone in Brescia, Degli Effetti in Rome, Helme in Catania,De Fano in Bari, Le Noir in Treviso, Ratti in Bologna and Pesaro, Alexandra in Verona, San Carlos in Turin, Tessabit in Como. The collection was also introduced aboard in Kuwait at Al Ostoura store, and was presented in Rome in July 2006 by High Rome and Vogue Italy.

In 2005 Capannolo was appointed creative director of Lancetti’s with the task restyling the prestigious Italian Label and its SS/2006 ready to wear and high fashion lines. In November 2006 Mr. Capannolo was appointed by Mariuccia Mandelli to replace Albert Elbaz and Gianbattista Valli at the head of the creative direction of Maison Krizia, where he works for three seasons. Currently, beyond designing with huge success his own line Gianluca Capannolo is the creative director of Metradamo.
