Emilio Pucci the Italian fashion designer was known for his bold colour and flashy prints that he started to design about six decades ago. Emilio Pucci clothes and accessories are sold through Emilio Pucci and Rossignol boutiques worldwide and in high-end department stores, mostly feature the designer’s original brightly coloured, often swirly, prints or new designs in his original distinct style.

Back then, Emilio was the jetset designer amongst Jacqueline Kennedy and Marylin Monroe. Emilio Pucci’s glamorous, chic and féminine lines have become very famous, especially among celebrities and famous figures and his nickname was ‘’the prince of prints’’ Pucci’s flashy prints and use of tight and stretchy material were soon praised by fashion critics everywhere. That was only the beginning of Emilio Pucci’s success story.

Pucci became the symbol of the pop culture of the 60’s. Emilio Pucci, Marchese di Barsento  was born in November 20, 1914  he died in 29 November 1992. Pucci studied for a year at the University of Milan. In 1935 he travelled to the United States where he also studied, returning to the University of Florence, from which he graduated in 1941. After the war, he gained attention as a fashionable designer of skiwear after being featured modelling his own designs in Harper’s Bazaar in 1948. This was followed in 1949 with designs for hats, casual trousers, and shirts that further drew him to the attention of an affluent fashion-conscious clientele which reflected his own social background. In 1950 he opened his own couture house in Florence, increasingly gaining attention for colourful casual clothing. His clothes became highly fashionable on both sides of the Atlantic from the mid-1950s, with the establishment of a shop on Fifth Avenue, New York, and featured in Vogue.

After Emilio’s death in 1992 his daughter, Laudomia Pucci, continued to design under the Pucci name.In October 2008, Peter Dundas has taken over the reigns as Creative Director at Emilio Pucci. Today, Dundas continues in the same tradition drawing a host of international It girls to his shows and mesmerizing them with his incredibly beautiful and sexy silhouettes. A Parsons graduate, Dundas had stints at Lacroix, Cavalli and Emanuel Ungaro before joining Pucci
